While writing four separate editions of 60 Hikes within 60 Miles of Cleveland has been great travel writing experience, I have written travel pieces and reviews of many Ohio attractions, businesses, and other destinations for publications including The Plain Dealer, Akron Beacon-Journal, Ohio Magazine, and numerous websites.

I also served as the managing editor for the Ohio pages of GoCityKids.com, a Webby Award-winning website, launching the Cleveland section and then later, sections for Columbus, Cincinnati and Dayton – before branching out into Kentucky sections! Alas, Nickelodeon made the decision to move to all user-generated content, and about a year after laying off the editorial staff, closed the site. (We former editors still field questions from people who relied on the “Zagats guide for families.” Sigh.)
